One of the main cast iron sewer lines from multiple apartments had corroded in the basement. 

The pipe was cut well above the damaged area. PVC was connected. The pipe ran under the 

concrete floor and through a brick partition which had to be excavated. 

The concrete floor on the other side had to be excavated to locate cast iron which 

was good enough to connect to.
