The eaves and soffits in the area of this roof valley had been infested over many years with 

bird nests. Breaches in the slate roof allowed wood rot to occur quite extensively, even 

on the main members. The damage extended approx. 10-15 feet from each side of the 

valley. Scaffolding was erected.  The image on the right is a close up view of the underside 

of the valley showing deterioration of the original rafters, eaves and soffit boards.

Job complete. All reveals and angles were restored as closely to the original condition 

as possible. The old galvanized valley flashing was left in place. (I'm not a roofer!)
