This is a view of the stairway wall from the second floor landing. Loose delaminated 

wallpaper and layers of paint was scraped away. Areas of soft and degraded  plaster is revealed. 

An area of soft degraded plaster is removed. The surrounding areas are secured with two inch fender 

washers. The ¼ inch inner hole is perfect for a typical drywall screw, setting flush against the top surface. 

This makes skim coating over these fasteners more effective.

This is the finished surface after inserting gypsum board, taping, skim coating the entire 

surface and feathering out the edges to conceal the seams. (Any imperfections you think you 

see is due to the ambiguities and lighting of the photography ... not my work!)
